The Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg makes its Kennedy Center debut with the Washington, D.C. premiere of Rodin, a full-length ballet based on the life and creative work of renowned French sculptor Auguste Rodin and his turbulent relationship with his apprentice, mistress and muse, Camille Claudel. The breakup of their passionate 15-year collaboration dealt a serious blow to Camille's mental health and marked the beginning of her descent into madness.
Visionary choreographer Boris Eifman's full-length ballets combine dramatic stagecraft, exquisite technique, and powerful dramatic interpretation.
